Welcome to our workshop program.  The easiest and least expensive way to learn Fresco is to have the teachers come to you.  Learn from Ilia Anossov - one of the few recognized Buon Fresco painters in America. The nationwide "Fresco Painting Workshop in Your Town" program is coming to Santa Fe/Albuquerque!

What is PRE-ENROLLMENT?

• Pre-enrolment application is an Enrollment Application submitted in advance at no cost or obligation to the applicant with added benefit of 25% transferable* pre-enrollment tuition discount. For us this is the first step in creating a "road map" for the American Fresco School, for you this is the first step to learn fresco painting technique at reasonable cost. This step is designed to minimize the workshop advertising and administration costs which is essential to keep the low cost of the tuition. When we collect 7-10 pre-enrollment applications for the same location we start/fund local advertising campaign through the appointed local organizer.  At this point we stop accepting pre-enrollment applications for that location and begin the enrollment process, your pre-enrollment application becomes an enrollment application. Tuition payment is due after the class is filled (16 confirmed students) and the official date of the workshop for that location is scheduled.

At our Fresco Workshop You will learn:

Step by step tutorial on preparation for Fresco. We will guide You through development of the concept and design, building composition based on giornatas, calculating the time and steps, ordering material.
Developing of the Cartoon and making tracings. From concept sketch and color rendering to full scale Cartoon and color study. Finalizing giornatas layout and making tracings.  
Wall preparation. Plaster selection and application. Sand and lime mixtures. Humidity control and moisture. Tools and equipment. Tips from master-plasterer Ian Hardwick.
Pigment selection and color preparation. Pigment grinding and storing ground base colors. Use of white and monitoring mixed colors during painting. Tools and equipment.
Painting and joining giornatas. Steps in painting. Morning, midday, evening differences. "Golden Hour" and drying challenge. Plaster behaviors and planning of the painting day.
Materials for Fresco. Where and how to find and buy fresco supplies. Lime, pigments, brushes, etc. On-line ordering.

• Two students from each FRESCO WORKSHOP will receive the "Best in Class" cash award ($250 US each). Students will be selected by the independent judge (local museum representative, art critic, celebrity artist, art educator, etc.)

• The whole workshop will be videotaped.  Each student will get a complimentary copy as a valuable refresher of the workshop experience. You can also request that a personalized video will be taken of your own individual workshop experience.  Good for professionals and individuals interested in promoting their career.  Separate charge may apply.

• Each workshop student will get a free showcase page at www.truefresco.com, the most definitive Contemporary Fresco Painting resource on the global internet, averaging 40,000 page-views per month in 1999.
