10 lbs a sq. ft. is as light as you are going to get in true fresco - but learn to don't worry about. Learn to make full size frescoes that people want to actually buy at a fair price ($1,500 to 3,000 and up). Believe me, the delivery and installation costs are a minor detail (add 15%).For those whom weight is the focus - make small scale 'prints' (11" by 17" )of the original, transferred to lightweight boards. I am working on my own process using dye sublimation, foamed magnesite and a polyester coating (to take the heat pressed inks). Sell them a panel, or two for $150 each. Cost to make - about $10 each including labour.
By the way Diego Rivera had a portable fresco show, painted and transported in squares not much larger than this - but much heavier per panel.
