I bought a metal steamboat wall art at a garage sale because I thought it was neat and unusual. When my husband and I got ready to hang it we noticed a signature on the back of C. Jere. I know nothing of the artist but have since tried finding out more on the internet. I found a fishing boat on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5429064746&category=553 that is very similar to the materials used and the overall style and size of our piece, except ours is a steamboat and it says "Dixie" on the front. Another difference is the signature. Our signature looks like it was carved into the metal rather than painted on. I would really like to find out more about the piece and the artist. These boats seem to be so different from his other work. If there are any C. Jere experts out there I would appreciate picking your brain. There is not too much information available on the Internet and The Secret Cove, mentioned so much throughout this string, no longer carries C. Jere pieces.
