same thing happens to me all the time, too... but i read this book, the artist's way... the only thing to somehow minimize the possibiliy of artists block happening again and again is to keep on writing. it suggested this writing exercise wherein everyday, you have to fill a number of pages (depends on you how many pages) with writings and mumblings and non-sense that sometimes blocks your creative pathways. once its out, creativity can more freely flow in. i tried it and it really did work. i did the exercise for weeks and i could see that earlier on, based on my journal exercise, my thoughts were so clogged up with stressful things and insecurities that blocked my creativity. once it was out of my system, my writings' mood shifted to more creative thoughts and more sensible aphorisms already.
