#0, What IS and ISN'T art

Hello, I am looking for ideas about a talk to illustrate what is and isn't art. I want to talk about what IS considered to be art today but that these works weren't always considered to be so at that time. For instance: Greek vases, heiroglyphs, traditional Aboriginal Australian art (or any other Indigenous peoples art) etc. Because these works had a different function at the time: ceremony, initiations, lessons in life etc. they weren't considered art by the makers. Is there a reversal to this as well. Are there works that WERE considered art at the time that aren't taken seriously as art NOW??ANy thoughts??? thank you, Mulungo
