I need help to write an essay on this incredible women! I don't know where to start. I just visited the exhibition in the arnolfini (bristol). A summary of all the work she has done from sculpture, painting, photography to performance art. Esssentially i would just like to learn about your views/thoughts on the artist or specific work she has done. any opinions would b valuble.

I also saw that exhibition at the arnolfini, along with the rest of the marked festival. I am about to write an essay on gina pane and don't know where to begin. I love her work because its so personal and gentle and I love the way her actions are displayed. Using her body as site, source and subject, she creates some beautiful images. However, I have to write my essay in terms of feminist theories so this is not what I'm supposed to focus on. Anyway, its good to hear someone else really loving this stuff! Any other artists you're into?

i wrote an essay on a theme of love inspired by her piece "sentimental action".Even thoe, many people wouldn't say that's feminist piece i completley disagree cause in her personal and sesnibile approach to love she really wants to show woman urge to belong without finding that subordinate to man's view of relationship.

as a self mutilator myself, i find it hard and often triggering to look at her work. when i do- i find it often hits a tiny mark not often hit. i can deeply sympathize and feel- see my own thoughts more clearly- i realize how similar her work is to mine

I am an actin student in England discussing the works of Franko B for an oral examination and was wondering whether anyone had any thoughts about eith er Franko, or Gina Pane. I am particularly interested in performance artists who use the body.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Gina pane and Franko B are both deeply moving and interesting artists... if anyone's looking for stuff related to their work and performance art involving the body, have a look at Ron Athey... he's twisted and magnificent!
