"Acrylics work for a mural by painting on glass first?"

I am an art teacher who's middle schoolers are paining a mural.
I heard of a muralist in CA that uses Nova Color Acrylics, he paints the wall with white and peels the dry painting off of glass and attaches it to the wet wall.
The mural dries and becomes permanent.
Has anyone heard of this or have any pointers?

Sounds like an "urban tale" - sort of mix of:

fresco - (wet wall - wet plaster)
see "Fresco Technique Overview"
http://truefresco.com/workshop/why_fresco_technique.html

mural - (painted on canvas in the studio which is later applied (glued) to the wall)
see http://iladesigns.com/lessons_murals_ila.html

and "monotype painting" (not sure about English translation)

First painting is done on the glass then, while paint is still wet a paper/canvas is layed over, pressed and removed, resulting imprint on the paper/canvas is the artwork - lots of fun you surely can do in the class... however this type of painting is generraly small if done in acrylic paints - dries too fast.
You will need oil to make a big size that can be considered a mural.

Gosh thank you for your quick answer!
I already mentioned it to my principal, I'll unmention it!
I just cannot paint with all those kids on a wall in a busy school, I'm too nervous.
