"Question about Modigliani's Paintings"

I recently came across a movie called Modigliani at my internship at Universal. I haven't actually watched the movie yet, (There's some information about the movie at www.modiglianithemovie.com, and it's also on DVD) but now i'm curious about the character played in the movie. I was wondering, what do you think about his paintings? What are some of his best works? where can they be seen? How does he compare to Picasso, and how accurate is the rivalry Modigliani and Picasso depicted in the movie?

Seriously! Have you ever heard of a 'Library'? What about google search. In this day and age there is no reason at all for lack of information (if you are really interested.) on any topic you chose. Yes books even have pictures in them ! As to the movie, i hired it a while back and unfortuneatly didnt watch it all. It was a bit of a cliche. Troubled artist struggles through life in order to follow his passion. I dont mind Modigliani's work. His trade mark is the elongated neck and face. This trait of his, reminds me of 'David's Odelesque' with the exxagerated spine of the model used for effect. sorry i ay have come off a bit on the cranky side-- its just that in this world today information is at ones finger tips and the 'old fashioned' library is a fantastic resource.

pay attention that while both painters are naive
Modigliani paintigs feel like Renaissance, with round
women , soft unbroken figures.
picasso is many times a cubist , he is wilder and
strogner in angles.
Modigliani's life were much poorer that picasso's
and as such his paintings are less agressive , gentle
and modest.
