"Water resistant tempera"

   Hi
I am trying out tempera resist. I bought some RichArt fresco tempera paint (not washable)and finding that it is washing off more than I would like.

I have tried adding acrylic matte medium and while it doesnt wash off, the effect is less desirable.

What can I mix in the tempera paint to make it less prone to washing away? Talc, plaster, egg white?

Thanks.

why do you need to use tempera in a place where there is water? acrylics should not wash off

The acrylics make the technique look a bit too plastic, even using a matte medium.

Gouache could be an option, but is more expensive.

Why tempera? Even tho some of it washes off, there is a randomness in the resulting texture and pattern that acrylics dont replicate.
