You can use a product called "Workable Fixatif" that is commonly available in any art store.

not 100% sure but a kneadable rubber may work (looks like grey playdough), it's brilliant for pencil and charcoal work, dont see why it wouldnt work with graphite.

"We rely on the poets, the philosophers, and the playwrights to articulate what most of us can only feel, in joy and sorrow. They illuminate the thoughts for which we only grope; they give us the strength and balm we cannot find in ourselves...the wisdom of acceptance and the resilience to push on."
~Helen Hayes

We were taught to keep our hands off the paper, rest hand on a ruler or small clean piece of board. Otherwise, smear and smudge it all over and then use the kneadable rubber to clean up white areas.
Hope this helps...this is my FIRST POST!!!!

Put a layer of paper under your hand when you draw, like a smooth bond paper for writeing.Dont touch the surface of your art.

Hey! i use hair spair lightly sometimes when i just cannot keep my hands out of my pencil lines to stop smudges. The best way is to just not smudge and to earse but my last resort is aroasual hair spray, just regular strength, nothing too crazy.. hope that helps!

When doing the work use a malhstick to keep your hands off the work. I'm an old signpainter and the mahlstick is an old tool for my work. javascript:smilie('')
