I have an idea to help you in your workshops, etc. Introduce "Sgraffito" as an easy introduction to fresco, or as a family project. I have enclosed an art deco graphic, that the copyright has expired, as an example. The white is scraped away to reveal the colored layer(s) underneath. You try to leave a slightly angled surface on the cut so water and dirt will not gather anywhere. This is an extremely durable outdoor piece of art, and then people will have the confidence to go on to fresco. I am making up a hexagon fibreglass frame like in the graphic, I have other images which will fit.
