the images that your daughter is interested in are called "photomosaics". i don't know of any "artist" who is popular using this technique but any major book store should have something. as an arist, i encourage you to push your daughter in a direction that has a more meaningful conceptual basis and is less reliant on fad and technique. such encouragement should serve her well in the contemporary art world.
