Spreading her arms to find that focus inside herself, that exact place of balance, where movement can freeze.

This is much smaller than the last one i've seen.
Did you switch to the "small form" (russian therm)?
I have seen you working large scale. Going to the smaller scale. Was it natural?

I paint mostly murals/frescoes now and at times find it difficult to swithch to smaller detail, for example I am working now on the oil mural for a corporate conference room and, i do not know why but I stuffed it with lots of small details - a person usually about life size in the foreground on this mural is 6 or so inches. So it is going awfully slow and drives me nuts. Especially knowing that I had full "artistic license" and could have designed them bigger. I just have trouble to agree with small things in painting now - after working "big" it is like breathing through the respirator. Although 20 years ago I have started as a miniature painter (one inch square) - go figure...

So did you have some readjustment "headache"?

My Wind piece is 13"x10"x36", so her height is 36", compared to this piece which is 10"x19"x34" -- a similar height. But considering the pose, which is not upright like Wind, this is the bigger piece! If Balance would raise herself to stand upright she would be taller!
