#0, trying to identify a ink drawing

I have a black and white picture that appears to be in black ink. Under a jewelers loop there are no picels that would indicate a print. I'm assuming it is an original. It is signed on the bottom "Hurd '56" and it is of a man with a hat and a woman. It has a contemporary/cartoonish appearance. I have searched the web and cannot find anything on it. Does anyone have any insight on it?

I appreciate the input but I thought it might be a Hurd. I am not sure since none of his other work looks like this. I wondered if anyone knows anymore about it.
