I'm hoping someone out there has enough experience with traditional materials and methods to help me. Here is what I now have on a wall, roughly in this order:
Coarser VP
Finer VP
casein paint, pigmented white, with linseed
unpigmented casein size
diluted white lime putty

I wanted a specific color of VP but it came out too yellow and then I tried everthing to get the yellow out. At this point there are still spots where the original dark VP shows through AND its cracking and peeling. Help?
