For those of us who never heard about Meat Dress or Jana Sterback here is the link:

http://www.snopes.com/spoons/noose/meatdrss.htm

in short:

"Unusual and unrefrigerated, Jana Sterbak's meat dress, 50 pounds of raw flank steaks stitched together and displayed on a hanger at the National Gallery, is causing a cultural flap in Canada.
Entitled "Vanitas: Flesh Dress for an Albino Anorectic," the exhibit was created by Montreal artist Sterbak to emphasize the contrast between vanity and bodily decay."

any other links related to this topic would be usefull,
so post them here.

Hello...I am a student at OCAD in Toronto. I am doing a paper on her art work and her life....so far I find that her art work is very simple but logilcal complex. I find that she use everday ideas that the rest of the population takes for granted and turns in to a work of art that makes the view think.

Hi, I am also an OCAD student, and I am also doing research for a presentation on Sterbak.
I will gladly share any good info I come across, and wish you all luck!

Hello - years later (Nov 2006) but came across this and thought I would say I wrote an article years ago on Sterbak and meat dress issues called "Art and Life" You can find it online at http://www.saltspring.com/hideaway/Caffyn/Papers/ArtAndLife.pdf
