#0, Latex Paint - allergy concern or not?
Posted by Rick on 08-May-04 at 04:05 PM
Hi,
I'm doing a mural in a hospital in a few weeks.

They have signs everywhere saying "no latex, due to allergy concerns."

Has anyone heard of a case where a person has had an allergic reaction caused specifically by latex paint?

Any other thoughts/info?

Thanks

if they have this signs - which paint they use, then?

i doubt that would be oil...

I am covered head to toe in hives because of latex paint.

Supposedly when the paint dries fully it will no longer be a concern - but I'm not going back for a while

Latex house paint does not contain any natural rubber latex. It will not trigger an allergic reaction in individuals who have latex allergy.

interesting because I thought it was oil base paint which was the one we were supposed to be watching out for. Maybe someone knows for sure because I do have allergies and my house is painted with latex, and this could be part of my problem.
Thanks. Linda. air purifier
