"In Search of Frescoes by Varotari's"

Please help. I am a self taught painter. I am now trying to learn all about frescoes painting, but using oil sticks (for now). In the Neiman Marcus August catalog isse of 2000, you will find a frescoes ceiling painted by an artis. This frescoe mural ceiling is a scene that Varotari painted in The Villa Emo in 1559. I would like to know as to where I can locate a picture of the ornamental grotesque images. Is there another website or a book that I can actually reference to, so that I can see his frescoes. I have been to my libraries (having only limited books available), I've had no luck.
The frescoes painted by Varotari on the ceiling of Villa Emo is precisely what I am in search of.

My home address is
3053 Courtfield Drive
Rochester Hills, MI 48309
USA

P.S. I love the truefrescoe.com website. Awesome!
thanks!
Cathy

Hi Catherine - I suggest that you write to the cultural section of the Italian embassy in the USA and see if they can help you.

Good luck

Suzie

   Dear Catherine,

If you can find out where this villa is located in Italy, I may be able to visit it when I am in Italy. The school I will be attending in Prato is specifically run for fresco painting and restoration. They have a large library of fresco source material. If you haven't had any luck, I can e-mail the librarian. She is a friend and I can get her to send me information about the work. If it is close by Prato, I may go look at it myself.

   Mr. Mozart,

I totally apologize for not responding back imediately after you so kindly offered your help. My father died soon after and it was hard for me and my family to get over hisdeath. We are a strong and close family.

I was able to learn and found out that the Italian Grotesque is the name of the frescoes that Varotari painted and is on the walls of the Villa Emo (Northern Italy). If you can provide any reference to this topic I would once again appreciate your kind efforts.

Sincerely,
Catherine Navaroli Bastian
