""Wind" Flying High"

Just out of the kiln and not a crack in her!

Flying towards you is a strong, mature figure, representing Wind. You can hear the air flapping across her body; and yet, she pauses for a second to listen to something, a small, nearly negligible sound perhaps, a sound from a quiet place behind her.

At last we see it Fly! Great piece of work!

Uvi, I ment to ask you a question about glazes and now is a great time to do so. I wanted to put some of my designs on to the decorative ceramic plates. I am not sure wich glazes to use?
I have some primary colour from Duncan. Are those good? I need to achieve rich, vivid tones - reds, greens, yellows.
Can you give a little "how-to" simular to one in the "Artistic process for Wind" thread, but on glazing and firing?

Ilia

   Thank you Ilia.

I am far from being knowledgeble on glazes and firing; I go to a Fine Arts Center to fire my work and typically use their glazes which have already been mixed.

Here is a link for you, perhaps it would be of help: http://art.sdsu.edu/ceramicsweb/main.html

   This is very impressive!

The feeling of movement is well captured here, and the attitude of attentive listening of the figure makes me pause and hold my breath to see if I can hear what she hears too!

Great!
