Hi everyone,
New to this list and greatly impressed.
I am interested in stucco lustro technique.
Can anyone recommend a good source?
Please correct the following if you notice anything wrong. The stucco plaster will be applied on a lime plastered wall.- mixture of marble powder and lime (equal parts?;
- natural pigments added to each coat (maximum 10%?;
- each coat applied with a supple 10cm blade, starting from top of wall.
Questions:
- Is there any need to incorporate such elements as linseed oil, beeswax, etc. in the plaster?
- What about the colour ordering: which ones first?
Any other tips will be greatly appreciated.
Marc

Hi
Im new here and would like to answer the stucco lustro message, just 6 months too late! Im working and teaching stucco lustro, and perhaps we up here (Sweden) use a different composition??? The smalto (lime + marseillesoap melted in water) mixed with pigments, used on semidry marmorino (marbledust+lime 50-50). Then heated with iron. No oils. Beeswax may be used some weeks after painting/heating/glossying(is this a true word- glossying????). Im confused over the different terminiologies and would like to know more about SL historically-archaeologically.HELP!
Stunning site by the way!!!

"Polishing" would be the better word.

Ask Joe Greco in our Plaster Arts Forum about that.
